Chemical Engineering Capital Campaign
Texas A&M University
|
Measuring Up When the Department of Chemical Engineering, opened its door more than 50 years ago, its primary mission was to train undergraduates for industrial and military careers. Today, Chemical Engineering grants over 150 bachelor's , masters and doctoral degrees annually. Mission accomplished, mission continues. Higher...Greater...Bolder. It is time for the Department to raise the bar, to aggressively pursue a new level of excellence. The Department's rapid growth and maturity have led to consistent placement among the nation's top-20 programs. However, it is top-10 recognition that attracts vital federal government and industrial support. Just as private-sector industrial plants need capital, liquid assets, hardware, inventory and facilities, the Department of Chemical Engineering at Texas A&M needs endowments, annual gifts and, most of all, it's own building. The measures of excellence for great departments are first-rate facilities, superior faculty and top students. The capital campaign we are undertaking will make sure to stand with the very best for many, many years to come. Over 20 years ago, Department Head Charles D. Holland adopted the philosophy of "hiring the top young people and helping them grow." His philosophy continues to serve the Department well as evidenced by the four national awards received in 1996-97 by Texas A&M Chemical Engineering faculty. To build upon this precedent, we must have additional facilities, equipment and financial resources. And so we invite you to join us as we embark on the $30 million Chemical Engineering Capital Campaign. Higher...Greater...Bolder.
