A Chemical Engineering
Approach to
the Materials/Biology Interface
A Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) Site sponsored
by the National Science Foundation
Program Dates: June 12 - Aug 7
Welcome to a unique summer REU program that will engage you in exciting research at the interface of biology and materials! You will learn the latest experimental and computational techniques, while developing the next generation of materials, products, and processes based on biological molecules and organisms.
Each participant will receive a stipend of $3200 for the eight-week period
in Summer 2006. Other benefits include housing, meal, and travel allowances;
1.0 credit hour of undergraduate course credit; and access to university
recreational facilities. Opportunities for presenting your research at
the local, regional, and national levels will be emphasized.
A major advantage of this REU Site is its close ties to the Dwight
Look College of Engineering’s Undergraduate Summer Research Grant
(USRG) program. Through our collaboration with USRG, you will interact with
dozens of undergraduate researchers from across the country and have
access to unique professional
development opportunities.
