The Department of Chemical Engineering at Texas A&M University is one of the largest, fully accredited programs in the country and ranks 18th nationally.
We typically graduate about 110 BS Chemical Engineers a year, who receive starting salaries that average $56,500/year when they work at one of the more than 200 companies that interview our graduates each year. Our graduates work in the petrochemical, pharmaceutical and microelectronic industries, or go on to graduate or professional school to become lawyers, physicians, and researchers. We believe that we have some of the finest graduates in the country.
Before they graduate, students can become involved in a number of professional and recreational activities. Students who participate in the Coop and Intern program get an opportunity to apply their knowledge to real industrial problems. We have a diverse faculty committed to excellence in the education of our students and in expanding the boundaries of our knowledge and understanding of chemical and biological systems through research. The spirit and traditions of Texas A&M tie students together with lifelong bond of camaraderie.
