Reputation and Statistics

The Department of Chemical Engineering is recognized nationally and internationally for its graduate and undergraduate programs. The research performed by the faculty and graduate students ranges from very fundamental to applied technology.

Six new faculty members joined the department during the 2004-05 academic year. For the 2005-06 academic year, we have added one new faculty member and would like to add four more. Through 2008, the department expects to have added at least 12 new faculty members over and above replacements, bringing our total number to 35.  

Awards

The department has excellent faculty and facilities with exceptional opportunities to perform research in a number of areas. In 2004, our faculty members published 132 refereed papers in high impact journals and gave 178 presentations. See our news page for recent faculty awards.
